Champion Sports Medicine

Champion Sports Medicine proudly provides local rehabilitation and sports performance services throughout Birmingham, AL, and the outlying areas of Oxford and Troy. CSM’s sports performance services offer strength, conditioning, speed, agility and pylometric programs to help teams and athletes reach their potential while reducing the risk of injury. Outpatient rehabilitation services offered by CSM include Physical Therapy, Pediatrics, TMJ Treatment, Isokinetic Treatment, Vestibular Rehabilitation and Osteoporosis Treatment.

The partnership also introduced CSM to a unique relationship with American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI). ASMI was founded in 1986 and has become the world’s leader in information related to pitching research. ASMI researchers travel worldwide to educate coaches, parents and sports medicine professionals. CSM works closely with ASMI through research and education.

As the rehabilitation provider for this league, Physiotherapy Associates provides care to more professional football athletes than any other provider of outpatient rehabilitation.

Champion Sports Medicine (CSM) was established in Birmingham, AL, in the fall of 2004, and was acquired by Physiotherapy Associates, on July 1, 2005. The acquisition formed close ties and a unique relationship with the Alabama Sports Medicine Orthopedic Center, with well-known practitioners Dr. James R. Andrews and Dr. Lawrence Lemak, as well as Physical Therapist Kevin Wilk.

CSM specializes in sports medicine injuries and accepts most insurances. CSM also offers flexible appointments that fit around patients’ schedules.
